March 19, 1995: “I’m back.” With this two-word press release, Michael Jordan announced his return to the NBA. 35 million viewers tuned in to watch him score 19 points on the Indiana Pacers, and the game remains the highest rated regular-season NBA game of all time.
Of course, MJ would later go on to a second three-peat, and (thankfully) to wearing the number 23 again.
